Steve Manos, of our Jupiter office, and his wife, Jolinda Porfidio, have taken an active role in the local organization Catch the Wave of Hope. Catch the Wave of Hope’s mission is to eliminate human trafficking through education, prevention, restoration, and legislation.” They work with local law enforcement, civic groups, churches, synagogues and businesses to spread awareness, while supporting legislation to ultimately end human trafficking. Jolida is the secretary of the organization and driven to help others rebuild their shatter lives through this opportunity so that they may live story-book lives.
The two have recently been promoting the work of Catch the Wave of Hope by manning booths at the Martin County Fair and the Martin County Home & Garden Show.
On March 23 from 4-6 pm, they will be hosting the official unveiling of a mural located in Downtown Stuart at 305 Southwest 3rd Street, Stuart, FL, 34994. Lynne Barletta will be painting the mural with the help of art students of Visionary School of Arts. Corporate Sponsorships can be purchased for the turtle, dolphins and larger fish. 100% of the corporate sponsorships will benefit Catch the Wave of Hope and a monument will be on site with the mural with all sponsorships for over $100.00
Speakers are available for groups interested in learning more or in joining the effort to abolish human trafficking. More information about Catch the Wave of Hope and how to donate is available at catchthewaveofhope.org.
