National Preparedness Month: It’s Time to Make a Preparedness Plan

August 27, 2014 12:15 pm

Actually, it is never too early to map out a disaster preparedness strategy for your family. Since September is National Preparedness Month, we thought it would be a good idea to remind our visitors how vital it is to plan for an emergency. Located right here in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, we at Atlantic Pacific Insurance know that we aren’t past summer storm season. If you haven’t already prepared for the potential of a storm or another natural disaster, this is a good time to get busy.

Atlantic PacificMake a Plan

The first thing you might want to consider is how your family can reconnect with each other if you happen to get separated. FEMA.gov has two family communication plans that you can download, and one is for adults, while the other is for kids. These plans can ensure that both adults and children know what to do in case they are split up during a disaster.

Do you know if your employer, kid’s school or other place where you family spends time has a plan in place? If so, do you know what it includes? If you don’t know how your business or your children’s daycare would handle an emergency, you might spend some time finding out. If they don’t have a plan, perhaps you could volunteer to help create one.

Let Us Help You Plan for Disasters

Of course, a strong storm that causes damage to your home, business or car will not actually turn into a disaster if your possessions are properly covered. We would be happy to help you review your current insurance coverage and discuss opportunities to improve them.  At the same time, we can provide competitive quotes to help you save money. At Atlantic Pacific Insurance, our experienced agents are eager to speak with you about flood, auto, home, and commercial insurance.
